英語で福島！飯盛山のさざえ堂 - 2013.10.20 Sun

みなさんこんにちは。
会津若松市より英語で福島です。

Do you know Sazae-do in Mt.Iimori　Aiduwakamatsu
飯盛山のさざえ堂ってご存知ですか？



It is a temple noted for its unique, turban shell shape.
Visitors climbing up stairs never come across others walking down the stairs from the top.
It is one of only a few stair case in the world .

さざえ堂のお寺の中には、上り下りするためのらせん階段があります。
ぐるぐる。のぼったりおりたり。
参拝者は一度も他の人に出会うことなく、
一方通行で堂内を参ることができるという世界的にも珍しい建物です




二重螺旋階段が知られている、レオナルド・ダヴィンチのアイデアが、
めぐりめぐって会津地方まで伝わったのではないか・・・
Some believe Leonardo da Vinci designed the staircase,
but this is as of yet, unconfirmed
